Wales fan dies in Qatar after travelling to World Cup

According to the Foreign Office, it is helping the family of a British national who passed away in Qatar.

The Welsh Football Association has reported that a Wales fan who was in Qatar for the World Cup has passed away.

The Football Association of Wales’ (FAW) chief executive, Noel Mooney, tweeted: “So sorry to hear that one of our supporters has passed away here.”

“Our condolences go out to the family, and of course we are here to support them in any way we can,” he continued.

“Unfortunately we lost one of the Red Wall yesterday in Qatar, our sincere condolences go out to his son here in Doha and his family back in Wales,” the Wales Football Supporters’ Association’s fan embassy posted on Twitter.

“May he find eternal peace.”

We are supporting the family of a British man who passed away in Qatar, a Foreign Office spokesman said.

Authorities estimate that more than 2,500 Wales fans have traveled to Qatar for the competition.
