Timo Meier is a professional ice hockey player from Switzerland. He was born on October 8, 1996, in Herisau, Switzerland.
Meier is currently a right winger for the San Jose Sharks in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Meier began his professional career with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2013.
He spent three seasons with the Mooseheads and was named to the QMJHL First All-Star Team in 2015-16, a season in which he scored 87 points in just 52 games.
In the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Meier was selected ninth overall by the San Jose Sharks.
He made his NHL debut with the Sharks in 2016 and has been a key member of the team ever since. In the 2019-20 season, Meier recorded a career-high 49 points in 70 games.
Meier has also represented Switzerland in international play, including the 2018 and 2019 IIHF World Championships.
