Sister Derby blasts Sam George for calling on President Akufo-Addo to sack EU envoys assisting LGBTI groups from Ghana

Ghanaian musician and model Sister Derby has descended on the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Sam George for calling on President Akufo-Addo to sack EU envoy assisting LGBTI groups from Ghana.

Recall that Sam George called on the President to sack envoys from Europe propagating Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) rights in Ghana

He said such ambassadors should be given a 48-hour ultimatum to leave the shores of Ghana.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker made this call on the back of recent reports the European Union (EU) aided in the opening of an LGBT+ office in Accra and declaring its support for similar organizations.

“The EU Commission rep should be given 48-hours to leave our country if he is not ready to respect our laws. You cannot have any foreign diplomat come to Ghana and disrespect the laws of our country because if we go to their country we are bound by their laws and the same applies here,” the MP said.

He continued: “We are becoming a joke if the EU has put up a tweet like this and after 6-days the EU rep is there drinking tea with government officials and doing business with them.

“Will the EU dare put up a tweet against any foreign democracy and not be answering questions by now?” he quizzed.

Sam George stated further that, “For me, I’m an ultra-nationalist on this matter, the laws and customary rites of this country must be respected by everyone and anybody.”

However, Sister Derby who has been in support of the legalization of LGBTI in Ghana has question Sam George’s call to President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The ‘Uncle Obama’ hitmaker indicated that the EU envoys who assisted LGBTI groups in Ghana shouldn’t be sacked because they are the ones who can protect fellow human beings from attacks for being themselves.

Responding to an article on Sam George’s request for the sack of EU envoys who assisted LGBTI groups in Ghana, Sister Derby wrote:

“You are sacking the people who will protect fellow humans from you attacking them for they JUST BEING, like seriously???”
