Authorities reported on Monday that a 13-year-old girl from Texas who had been missing was discovered locked inside an outbuilding close to a residence in North Carolina.
According to Sheriff Richie Simmons, investigators from the Dallas police and the FBI discovered that a 34-year-old man had persuaded the girl to leave her home after communicating with her through social media, then picked her up in his vehicle.

Cameras recorded a vehicle registered to an address in Davidson County near the girl’s house, and officials stated in a news release that a special agent with the Texas FBI Violent Crimes Task Force alerted the sheriff’s office there on Friday.
“Within 10 minutes, our men had eyes on that residence,” Captain Stephanie Murphy said. “Everything happened rather swiftly after that.”
Officials discovered the automobile and pulled the owner over as he exited the house, according to reports.

During the traffic stop, they discovered that the girl was locked inside an outbuilding on the Lexington property, where she was discovered. According to officials, she was taken for medical examination and eventually returned to Texas.
The man, identified as Jorge Ivan Santos Camacho, was apprehended and charged with abduction, felonious restraint, human trafficking, statutory rape, statutory sex offense, and indecent liberties.

He is being held on a $1.25 million bond. According to court records, Attorney Corey Buggs was appointed to represent Camacho during a hearing on Monday. Buggs did not respond immediately to a phone message requesting comment.
