Who is David Miller?
Ryan Murphy, the creator of American Horror Story, Glee, and Netflix’s Hollywood, among other shows, has known his spouse, David Miller, for more than two decades, but it took them years to take their friendship to the next level. According to The New Yorker, Ryan met David in the 1990s at Muse, a homosexual hotspot in LA, where David was awestruck by Ryan.
They waited 15 years before starting to date because, as Ryan said to The New Yorker in 2018, “we were both serious about having a relationship, wanting children.”
They received just that when they married in 2012, and their first kid arrived six months later, followed by their second child in 2015. David, a photographer, complements Ryan’s inventiveness with his own, which he has been able to display at the couple’s several houses.
The pair has properties on both coasts, including one in Provincetown, Massachusetts, which is close to where they married. Ryan and David both collaborated with designers and artists to transform their houses into welcome pieces of art.
Though David, like Ryan, is a creative, he prefers to stay on the sidelines and let his spouse take center stage. According to Ryan’s New Yorker biography, David is a sports lover who is athletic and isn’t impressed by celebrities. Instead, he keeps a quiet profile and concentrates on his family.
When their younger son was diagnosed with cancer and fought it, it was one of the few occasions the two were open about their personal lives. We only get to see these two together on rare occasions when they walk the red carpet.
