Patrick Carlin Dead at 90
Patrick Carlin, a comedic writer and performer who influenced his younger brother George Carlin greatly, died on Saturday at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Hollywood. He was 90 years old.
Carlin’s death was confirmed by Kelly Carlin, his niece and daughter of George Carlin. George Carlin died at age 71 in June 2008.
Kelly Carlin, Patrick’s niece and George’s daughter, shared the news of Patrick’s death Saturday on Twitter.
“My dear Uncle Patrick has moved onto the spirit world,” she wrote. “He’s currently spinning tunes, smoking a jay w/my Aunt Marlane and shooting the shit w/ his brother. He was a philosopher & a tough mofo all wrapped up in one.”

Carlin wrote for The George Carlin Show, which aired on Fox in the mid-’90s for one season. On the audiobook edition of George’s memoir, Last Words, he is acknowledged as a narrator. (George passed away in 2008 at the age of 71.)
He was also a radio personality who worked at KROQ, a rock station in Los Angeles, some decades ago.
Patrick’s Hollywood-Stock Connection was a podcast he hosted lately.
He and his wife Marlene had two boys, Patrick and Denis, who died before him. They had been married for for 60 years till she passed away a year ago.
