Patrice Bergeron is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently serves as the captain of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on July 24, 1985, in L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada.

Bergeron was drafted 45th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 2003-04 season and has been a member of the Bruins ever since.

Bergeron is known for his two-way play and is regarded as one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL.

Throughout his career, Bergeron has won numerous awards and accolades. He has won the Frank J. Selke Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL’s best defensive forward, four times (2012, 2014, 2015, 2017).

He has also won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a significant humanitarian contribution to his community, in 2013.

Bergeron has been a member of the Canadian national team and has won two Olympic gold medals (2010, 2014) and a World Cup of Hockey championship (2016).

Off the ice, Bergeron is known for his philanthropic efforts. He established the Patrice’s Pals program in 2006, which provides children from local hospitals with the opportunity to watch Bruins games from a luxury suite and meet Bergeron after the game.

He has also been involved with various other charitable organizations, including the Boston Bruins Foundation, which raises money for various charities throughout New England.
