At least one person was killed in a mass stabbing on the Las Vegas strip that targeted showgirls.
At least six people were stabbed near the Wynn casino in Encore, and several others were taken to the hospital. According to a spokesperson, the ‘amount of injuries sustained by those attacked is unknown.
Bystanders told FOX5 that victims of stabbings included’showgirls’ those working on the strip.
Five injured people were found and transported to nearby hospitals.
‘A man just started stabbing and slashing,’ a witness said.
Maxime Wallace, a Montreal tourist who witnessed the stabbing, told reporters that “everything happened so fast it was hard to see.”
A suspect was apprehended in front of the Venetian with significant amounts of blood ‘on his sleeves.’
There are ten officers outside the Wynn casino, possibly looking for a weapon. The alleged incident took place between Wynn and Resorts World Casino, two major tourist attractions in the city.
According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, the stabbing occurred around 11.42 a.m.
Police were called to the 3100 block of S. Las Vegas Boulevard to a casino.
At Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas Boulevard is closed to traffic.
Closures are also affecting Spring Mountain and other nearby streets.
