Naomi Judd was married to Larry Strickland. They got married in the year 1989. The couple has been together for more than 30 years.
Naomi’s second husband, whom she married on May 6, 1989, was born in 1946 to a preacher father in Raleigh, North Carolina. According to Country Fancast, Naomi once commented, “We come from similar backgrounds.” “Larry and I come from a blue-collar family of six.” Every summer, he toiled in the tobacco fields. My father had a petrol station and instilled in me the value of hard labor. Larry is one of the most modest people I’ve ever met.”
Larry is also a musician, having started singing in church at an early age and then going on to become a world-class bass player as a member of the Stamps Quartet in the 1970s. “When I was around 10 years old, my father took me to a gospel performance, and I got to hear, at the time, the top groups in the gospel music industry,” Larry told Country Fancast in an interview. “Ever since I was a small child, it has sunk deep into me.” I began singing when I was a teenager. I’m self-teaching. I’m working on improving my voice and learning to read music. Since then, it’s been a part of me.”
Larry has aided Naomi with her post-The Judds career throughout their amazing marriage. He assisted her on her two-season Hallmark Channel TV show Naomi’s New Morning, promoted her memoir River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope and other self-help books, backed her acting roles in films like Lifetime’s The Killing Game, and was always there when she returned to the country music stage.
