Marion Sylvester Barber III, born on June 10, 1983, was a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons.
After playing college football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2007 during his six-year tenure with the Cowboys. He played for the Chicago Bears in 2011.
Marion Barber was found dead in his apartment by Frisco police on Wednesday.

Marion Barber III’s father, Marion Sylvester Barber Jr. was born on December 6, 1959, and is a former American football running back.
He played for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) from 1982 to 1988.
He attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in youth studies in 2017, almost 40 years after playing for the Gophers.
Karen Barber is the mother of Marion Barber III.
