A MAN has been charged with murder after a dad was shot dead and doused in acid.
The body of Liam Smith, 38, who had been shot to death, was discovered on the street in Wigan.
Police have now accused 38-year-old Michael Hillier of murder.
Prior to his appearance before Tameside Magistrates’ Court today, he was remanded in jail.
On November 24, Liam’s body was discovered, and a murder investigation was started.
In Wigan, Greater Manchester, officers rushed to the scene near a school.
An urgent medical warning was issued and Kilburn Avenue in Shevington was closed up.
Liam was tragically shot after being the victim of an acid attack, according to Greater Manchester Police.
In a statement, his family stated: “Liam was the life and spirit of the party; he was hilarious and kind-hearted.
“He was a loving father, son, brother, grandparent, and uncle.
