Kurtley Beale, an Australian rugby union player, has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in a Sydney pub last month.
Police say they are looking into reports that a 28-year-old woman was attacked on December 17 in the beachside suburb of Bondi.
Mr Beale, 34, has played over 90 games for Australia’s national team, the Wallabies, in the last decade.

He was recently named to the Wallabies’ World Cup training squad.
Rugby Australia issued a statement saying it was aware of Beale’s arrest, as were his regional team, the New South Wales Waratahs, and the Rugby Union Players Association (RUPA).
However, it will not make any comments because it is a police matter and no charges have been filed.
Mr. Beale has spent the majority of his career in Australia, but he has signed a two-year contract with Racing 92 in France.
He returned home to the New South Wales Waratahs at the end of his contract, hoping to compete for Australia in a fourth World Cup in September.
