A British girl identified as Jonada Avdia has been killed in a horror speedboat crash after she was reportedly hit by an off-duty police chief while she was swimming on a beach in Albania.
Jonada Avdia, 7, was sadly killed as a result of police officer Arjan Tase’s suspected reckless speedboat maneuvering on the Potami beach in Himara.

The child was struck by the vessel’s driver at around 2:00 on Tuesday, according to the police, who also reported that the child died immediately at the scene.
Tase, apparently the city of Elbasan’s police chief, was detained and taken into custody for questioning.
According to the Albania Daily News, he has been charged with manslaughter and is scheduled to appear before the Vlora court.
When the disaster happen, the young girl from Barking, east London, was on vacation with her family in her parents’ country.
When Jonada Avdia was hit by the speedboat in front of horrified bystanders, she was swimming just 15 feet from the shore.
In a heartwarming message on social media, teacher Bislim Ahmetaj revealed a heartbreaking conversation he had with the girl’s distressed father Bledar.
He was holding his daughter’s hand when she was struck, the distraught father stated, adding, “I should have died and not Jonada.”
According to a statement made by the Police Oversight Agency (AMP), Tase was operating the boat from Porto Palermo to Potami while his family members were also present.
