They split up in 1976. Following their divorce, Nadine Trintignant began dating Alain Corneau, a French director who subsequently adopted her children Marie and Vincent. Corneau and Trintignant were married for 37 years until his death in 2010.


Two of Trintignant’s three children have died in infancy. Her nine-month-old daughter Pauline died of crib death in 1970, and her older daughter Marie died of injuries sustained in 2003.
