England captain Kane to undergo ankle scan
As a result of a knock he sustained during England’s World Cup victory against Iran, Harry Kane will undergo a scan on his right ankle.
As is customary the day following a game, neither Kane nor any of the starters from that game participated in open training yesterday.
Kane was replaced after 76 minutes due to the injury he sustained in the second half.
After the game, England manager Gareth Southgate explained that Kane’s departure was a precaution.
But later, when the striker was exiting the stadium, strapping was visible around his ankle.
Kane missed 14 games in the 2016–17 season due to ankle issues he had in the past. Additionally, he missed four games in the previous campaign due to an unrelated ankle injury.
