From his real name Houon Ange Didier, Dj Arafat was posthumously raised to the rank of the National Order of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire this Friday, August 30 during the funeral of the artist (Arafat Dj ndrl) at the Felix Houphouet Boigny stadium in Abidjan.
The National Order of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire is an Ivorian honorary order created in 1960 to reward personal merit and outstanding service to the Nation. This is the highest order in the country.
Note that the singer had already been decorated last February to the rank of Officer in the Order of Cultural Merit of Ivory Coast.
Deceased in the night of August 11 to 12, 2019 following a motorcycle accident in Abidjan, the king of Coupé-Décalé died at the age of 33.
After having gleaned several prizes including, the kora, the kundé, the music awards … This distinction crowns the years of work of this young Ivorian artist.
