Dansby Swanson is a professional baseball player who currently plays as a shortstop for the Atlanta Braves in Major League Baseball (MLB).

He was born on February 11, 1994, in Kennesaw, Georgia, and attended Vanderbilt University where he played college baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Swanson was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks as the first overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft.

He made his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks in August 2016, but was traded to the Braves in December 2016 as part of a trade package that included pitcher Shelby Miller.

Since joining the Braves, Swanson has established himself as a key player in the team’s lineup.

He was an All-Star in 2021, and helped lead the Braves to the National League East division title and a World Series championship in the same year.

He is known for his solid defense at shortstop, as well as his offensive contributions, particularly in the clutch.

Off the field, Swanson is known for his charitable work and his love for music.

Dansby grew up in Marietta with his two siblings. His two siblings are Lindsey and Chase.

Chase Swanson, Dansby’s brother, grew up in a different neighborhood called Cobb County and majored in Economics at Mercer University.

He later earned a BA while attending the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer. He was able to participate in everything going on on campus while in law school.

Lindsey Swanson, Dansby and Chase’s sister, lived in Marietta. She received a softball scholarship as an award while attending Georgia College and State University.

She became interested in psychology after realizing the significance of her academic and athletic achievements. She and her husband and children lived in Kennesaw.
