Clayton Charles Ruby CM was a Canadian lawyer and activist, specializing in constitutional and criminal law and civil rights.
He earned a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Toronto in 1969 and was called to the bar in 1969.
From 1976 to 2008 he was a partner with the law firm of Ruby & Edwardh with Marlys Edwardh. Since 2007, he has been a partner with the law firm of Ruby Shiller Chan Hasan in Toronto, Ontario.
In 1991, Ruby was part of the legal team used by the Church of Scientology to defend itself and nine of its members who were on trial for stealing documents concerning Scientology from the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, the Canadian Mental Health Association, two police forces, and other institutions.
