American singer and actor Bobby Rydell has died. He died on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the age of 79.
Rydell, who mainly performed rock and roll music, was considered a teen idol in the early 1960s.
His most well-known songs include Wild One and Volare, and he appeared in the movie Bye Bye Birdie in 1963.

The cause of Bobby Rydell’s death was caused by complications from pneumonia, a rep for the artist confirmed in a statement.
In 2012, the singer underwent liver and kidney transplants.
Right after the surgery was successful, Rydell told the local CBS affiliate in his native Philadelphia that his doctor gave him “maybe a month” to live if he did not undergo the surgeries.
“It’s truly a miracle,” said Rydell, who came out of the Philadelphia scene that also spawned Fabian and Frankie Avalon.
