William Thomas Hader Jr. is an actor, comedian, and filmmaker from the United States. He is the creator, producer, writer, director, and star of HBO’s dark comedy series Barry, for which he has received eight Emmy nominations and two wins.
Hader rose to prominence after an eight-year career as a cast member on the long-running NBC variety show Saturday Night Live (2005–2013), for which he won four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Peabody Award. He became well-known for his impersonations, particularly on Weekend Update, where he portrayed Stefon Meyers, a flamboyant New York tour guide who advises strange nightclubs and parties to eccentric personalities with strange interests. He is also the star and producer of Documentary Now! (2015–present), an IFC mockumentary comedy series he co-created with Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers.
