Buzz Aldrin, a former astronaut, announced on his 93rd birthday that he had wed his lifelong lover.

Aldrin disclosed that he and Dr. Anca Faur, 63, were married in a tiny, private ceremony. He and Neil Armstrong became the first to set foot on the moon.

A tweet from Aldrin’s Twitter account stated, “On my 93rd birthday and the day I will also be recognized by Living Legends of Aviation, I am thrilled to announce that my lifelong girlfriend Dr. Anca Faur and I have married the marriage.”

In a modest, private ceremony in Los Angeles, “we were joined in holy matrimony and are as excited as eloping teens.”

The astronaut posted two images of himself and Faur, with the bride wearing a stunning gown and Adrien dressed nicely.

Aldrin was married three times before he wed Faur, and each of those marriages ended in divorce.

James, Janice, and Andrew are his three children from his first marriage to Joan Archer.

Aldrin and Archer were wed from 1954 until they applied for divorce in 1974.

Friends, colleagues, and fans all congratulated the happy couple.

“Congratulations Doctors Aldrin and Faur!” one person wrote.

“I send you lots of love, harmony, happiness, and joy! I’m so pleased for you, Buzz, and Anca.

“Congratulations, it is very incredible! Forever young,” said a different.

a third party remarked: “Buzz, happy birthday and congrats on your nuptials.

“I’m ecstatic for you. As usual, you did it elegantly.”

Aldrin piloted the Lunar Module Eagle on the 1969 Apollo 11 mission and performed three spacewalks throughout the course of his career.

On July 20, 1969, he landed on the moon 19 minutes after Armstrong.

He is the lone survivor of the three astronauts that were part of the Apollo 11 mission.

Before retiring in 1971, he traveled into space for a total of 12 days.
