Hollywood actress Alicia Silverstone posed nude for the first time ever in her 30 year career in a campaign for animal rights charity PETA to encourage people to wear vegan clothes
Clueless star Alicia Silverstone went naked for the first time in her career for a PETA veganism campaign.
As she regally posed in the middle of a cactus field, the 46-year-old stripped down to nothing but a pair of vegan leather cowboy boots.
The image, which stood 29 feet tall in the middle of Times Square PSA in New York City, read: “Don’t be a jerk. Wear vegan clothing.”
“Wear cactus, mushroom, or apple leather instead!” suggested the copy.
Alicia, who revealed she has “never, ever gotten naked in TV, in film, in anything,” kept her modesty intact while flaunting her natural curves and stunning wavy blonde locks.
In a video interview, the vegan star explained her courageous campaign, saying, “I never, ever get naked in TV, in film, nothing, but I’ve done it for PETA because that’s how much it matters to me.”
“The amount of resources, water, food, transportation oil, and energy that goes into making leather is astounding. It’s simply not sustainable. It is beyond the capacity of the Earth “Alicia talked about it, encouraging fans to switch to a more sustainable option.
PETA, the animal rights organization that works with the Hollywood starlet, also provided expert advice on the subject.
“Instead of supporting industries that kill animals for their skin, everyone can choose innovative vegan leathers made from the prickly pear cactus, mushrooms, or apples,” they stated.
Alicia has previously stated that veganism has “revolutionized her world,” and she is being joined by a slew of celebrities, including Penélope Cruz, Jenna Dewan, Taraji P. Henson, Eva Mendes, and Olivia Munn, in her efforts to promote humane clothing choices.
The Clueless actress also has two vegan cookbooks, The Kind Diet and The Kind Mama, and she says her veganism has “tremendously” shaped her life and career.
She stated: “I went vegan for the sake of the animals, but the health transformation I underwent and continue to undergo has been extraordinary. At the age of 21, this changed my life and career dramatically.”
